What we store
If you create an account we store your email address, your username and display name, an optional avatar and bio, your ratings, reviews, favorites and follows, plus the notification and privacy preferences you choose. Browsing MusicUniverse without an account does not create a profile.
What is public
Your profile, ratings, reviews, favorites and follow lists are public by default because they power community rankings. Every one of those surfaces can be restricted to followers or to yourself in Settings → Privacy. Your email address is never shown to other members.
How we use it
Account data is used to run the service: authentication, publishing your contributions, computing rankings and sending the notifications you opted into. We do not sell personal data and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Processors
Authentication, database and file storage are operated by our hosting provider on our behalf. Catalog metadata, cover art and audio previews are fetched from public music data providers; those requests are made by our servers, not by your browser profile.
Your controls
You can edit or remove any rating or review at any time, change every privacy toggle, and permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, ratings, reviews, favorites, follows and notifications immediately and cannot be undone.
